On Monday February 8, 2010, during the regular monthly meeting of the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Company, President John Cordisco made a special presentation to recognize Past Fire Chief David Aberts for his fifteen years of service to the company as Fire Chief.
Past Chief Aberts served as Fire Chief from 1995 when he was elected until January 11, 2010 when the current Fire Chief Donald Taylor was officially sworn in and took over at the first monthly meeting of the new year. President Cordisco presented Past Chief Aberts with a gift card to Outback Steakhouse as well as a plaque with the following inscription to thank him for his dedication and service:

The plaque was custom made by local artist Dave Mendenhall and features the official patch of the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Company, which was adopted in 2003 during the term of Chief Aberts. Past Chief Aberts will be able to add this exquisite plaque to his collection of items commemorating his years of service as Fire Chief to the members of the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Company and residents of Caln Township.
